Real Madrid are reportedly lining up a January move for Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez.

The Chilean's future at the Emirates was up in the air all summer, with Bayern Munich and Manchester City battling for his signature.

City were given a clear run after the Bundesliga champions baulked at Sanchez's wage demands, but failed with a series of bids to land the 28-year-old.

Arsenal face losing Sanchez for nothing when his contract expires next summer after failing to put pen to paper on an extension.

The former Barcelona forward is free to discuss terms with foreign clubs in January.

And Real president Florentino Perez has shortlisted Sanchez in an attempt to boost their firepower after selling Alavaro Morata and losing Karim Benzema through injury, according to reports in Spain.

RB Leipzig's Timo Werner, Borussia Dortmund star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Bayern Munich's Robert Lewandowski are also on his radar.
