Real Madrid are reportedly ready to offer Gareth Bale to Manchester United.
The Welsh star is back on the treatment table following last season's injury-hit campaign and according to a report in El Confidencial, the Spanish champions are losing patience in him.
While the 28-year-old has consistently stated that he is happy to remain at the club, the report suggests that Jose Mourinho is keen to snap him up at Manchester United and Madrid would be willing to sell him, should they recoup the £85million they shelled out for him.
That would be £89.3million in today's exchange rate.
Mourinho has made United "as good as they once were"
Manchester United are as "as good as they once were" ahead of Saturday's clash with Liverpool at Anfield , according to the Daily Mirror football writer Darren Lewis.
Speaking on the latest edition of the Mirror Football podcast, Lewis hailed Mourinho's efforts in his second season at Old Trafford.
He also praised the work that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is doing, while Merseyside football writer David Maddock claimed that the pressure heaped on the Reds has boss has been overblown.
