The summer transfer window has shut with some mammoth figures forked out across the Premier League and Europe.

It's easy to think that quality players have become out of reach for all but the most cashed-up clubs but Mirror Sport's Neil McLeman explains otherwise.

In the video above, McLeman selects his best buys of the window to show there is still value for money to be had in football.

He explains that Burnley's £15m striker Chris Wood is already paying back the club - "If he scores 10-15 goals in the Premier League he's worth every penny."

West Brom signing Oliver Burke, also brought in for £15m, is proving a bargain from RB Leipzig while two sales from relegated Hull City, Andrew Robertson to Liverpool and Harry McGuire to Leicester, were brilliant business for their new home clubs.

Then there's Southampton's new defender Wesley Hoedt, who was brought in on a five-year deal and considered a ready-made replacement for Virgil Van Dijk, but will instead play alongside him in a solid central defensive pairing.

See who else makes McLeman's list as he joins Ibrahim Mustapha above.
