Arsenal enter week two of the Premier League still on a high after completing a famous comeback against Leicester and Arsene Wenger has been speaking ahead of their trip to Stoke this weekend.

A debut goal for Alexandre Lacazette will have delighted the boss, while Olivier Giroud made his point by grabbing the winner, emphasizing the Gunners' excellent options in attack.

Topics up for discussion include Alexis Sanchez, again, injuries, transfer window changes and Jack Wilshere's future.

Here are five things we learned from Wenger's press conference.

1. Wenger gives green light for Perez exit

Speculation over Arsenal exits has centred on Alexis Sanchez and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, but Wenger has revealed that Lucas Perez is now free to leave.

The 28-year-old has failed to settle since moving from Deportivo La Coruna for £17m and has been given the chance to move by his manager.

“It’s a possibility (he will leave),” he said. “I’ve opened the door for him.”

2. Wenger reveals Sanchez return date

Alexis Sanchez is stepping up his return to fitness and Wenger is confident he will be ready for the trip to Liverpool on August 27.

The Chilean will miss out against Stoke, but Wenger should be able to welcome his talisman back for the big clash at Anfield.

“For Sanchez it looks a little early but he works hard in training," Wenger said.

3. Transfer window changes fine by Wenger

Debate has raged this week about the potential for the transfer window to shut before the season starts.

Despite the competitive advantage it would hand European rivals, Wenger is not against the proposal.

“I would support it of course, for the regularity of the season it is better," Wenger claimed.

4. Wilshere has Arsenal future

Jack Wilshere appears to be at a crossroads in his career after injury scuppered his progress on loan at Bournemouth last season.

Linked with Sampdoria, Newcastle and West Ham, yet Wenger confirms the England midfielder will remain at the Emirates this season.

“It is good that he is back and available. He is not far away,” he said. “I plan for him to be here for the season, after we will see.”

5. Gunners' defence will be boosted for Stoke

Arsenal's defence against Leicester was a shambles at times and at one point in the second half they lined up in a back four without any player in their natural position.

So the return of Shkodran Mustafi will be a huge boost, with the German set to come straight back into the line-up, likely in place of Sead Kolasinac, who will probably revert to left wing-back.
