You don't go after Jamie Carragher on Twitter. And you especially don't go after him after Liverpool have had a disappointing result.

Carra's Sky Sports punditry colleague Gary Neville would - you'd have thought - have known this before tweeting in the aftermath of Liverpool's 1-1 draw at Newcastle on Sunday, but it seems as though he hasn't learned.

Because his attempt at a bit of humour following another disappointing Reds result didn't go unnoticed by his former England teammate.

It all started when Carra tweeted his disappointment at the result, writing: "Poor second half from Liverpool, again concede a poor goal & not clinical enough in front of goal. Then almost lose it from a set piece!!"

Sensing a chance for a nice little dig at Liverpool, Neville chimed in by quoting Carragher's tweet and ironically writing "A good point away from home."

But Carra, as ever, had an answer to that, and it included a bit of good old-fashioned trolling about Neville's disastrous spell in charge of Valencia.

Boys will be boys, eh?
