Arsenal are getting a lot of stick in a lot places right now.

But even with the amount of grief currently heading in the direction of the Gunners, a court in Malta is probably not the most obvious place for a bit of Arsenal trolling.

And yet, thanks to 16 year-old Jake Peachey, that is exactly what has just happened.

Jake was in Malta for England's largely uneventful 4-0 win in their World Cup qualifier. Bored by the dull nature of the game, Jake posted a tweet saying he would invade the pitch if he got 400 retweets.

Sure enough, it was shared far and wide… and Jake charged onto the field of play in the 69th minute.

As you might expect, Jake was quickly led away by stewards and handed over to the authorities.

After spending a night in the cells, he appeared in court, where he was handed a €200 fine and banned from all Maltese sporting facilities for a year.

Judging by this tweet, he wasn't too bothered by the punishment:

However, while the young prankster may have been unconcerned by his appearance in court, some of Arsenal's more sensitive fans may have been slightly irritated by the proceedings.

Joe Mifsud was the magistrate who handed out the fine, and is known locally to be a huge Juventus supporter.

In court, he asked Jake what club team he supports. When Jake replied, 'Arsenal', the magistrate told him:

"You always come close, but never win anything."

Sure that will go down well with Gooners in Malta (and everywhere else)…
