It hasn't been a good few days for Arsenal, and they've been trying to stay away from the limelight.

If you don't count retweets, the club's official Twitter account have only tweeted four times since the full-time whistle went at Anfield on Sunday, confirming the Gunners' miserable 4-0 defeat to Liverpool .

And the fourth of those tweets turned out to be a pretty unfortunate one.

Because while the club simply wanted to pay tribute to Swiss midfielder Granit Xhaka for winning his national team's player of the year award on Tuesday, the fact that the 24-year-old was one of the more disappointing performers at Anfield - where he backheeled the ball out for a corner at one point - couldn't be ignored.

Or, it transpires, couldn't fail to be laughed at.

Some got straight to the point

Some were even harsher than that

But most went straight for the man himself

Ouch!
