Given that you can't kill Zlatan Ibrahimovic with conventional weapons, then it was always unlikely that conventional injuries would finish him off.

And so it proved.

On Thursday, the big Swede returned to Manchester United by signing another one-year contract at the club, taking over Wayne Rooney's old No. 10 shirt in the process and claiming that he wanted to "finish what he started" at Old Trafford.

After announcing the move in a typically understated style, Zlatan will return to a United side which now features Romelu Lukaku as its main attacker, although he will offer valuable cover for the Belgian in the latter half of the season.

And United fans, understandably, are largely delighted by the news.

Can his presence be the catalyst to a serious title challenge?
