Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has slammed VAR technology for not reversing a "clear penalty" that saw Willian booked for diving.

The Blues were held all the way to penalties against Norwich in the FA Cup third round replay with the Brazilian going to ground in extra-time.

Despite apparent contact the referee booked Willian with a perceived lack of conclusive evidence to reverse the call, despite many believing otherwise.

"We need to improve if we want to use this new system," Conte said. "In this game there was a situation very clear, with Willian in first-half extra time. I watched it and this is a penalty.

"The referee took quickly a decision to book Willian. If you do this quickly it means you don't have doubt.

"If you want to improve this system you have to wait to check with the person who is watching.

"At least you must have a doubt, because there is a kick to Willian. Maybe it's not a penalty, but it's better if you go [to VAR].

"In Italy before using this new system, they tried, tried, tried. You have to find the best solution. This is not."
