Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has been handed a boost ahead of his side's trip to Swansea on Monday, as skipper Jordan Henderson has returned to training after injury.
Henderson has not played for the Reds since picking up a hamstring problem in their 3-3 draw with Arsenal before Christmas.
But the midfield leader returned to action on Thursday at Liverpool's Melwood training facility and looks to be in contention for a place in the squad for Monday's clash.
The 27-year-old was ever-present for his team prior to injury, making 23 appearances already this season.
Liverpool are currently one short in midfield having failed to bring in Naby Keita as a replacement for Philippe Coutinho following his big-money money to Barcelona.
But it is unlikely they will bring in another option, given that Keita is already set to move to Anfield in the summer, making Henderson's return all the more timely.
The Merseyside club have faired pretty well without their captain however, with the Reds winning all five of their matches in his absence.
Another boost for Klopp's men will be the likely inclusion of new £75 million signing Virgil Van Dijk in the starting line-up.
The Dutchman was on the bench for the 4-3 win over Manchester City on Sunday, also due to a hamstring issue.
But Van Dijk is set to regain his starting berth ahead of Dejan Lovren or Joel Matip, who were both unconvincing in Sunday's victory.
