Alexis Sanchez's imminent arrival at Manchester United looks set to impact Jose Mourinho's summer transfer plans.

Mirror Sport understands Sanchez left Arsenal’s team hotel on Friday night just before 11pm and was bound for Manchester to complete his move to Old Trafford.

Sanchez is set to undergo a medical on Saturday and his arrival could end any chance of Cristiano Ronaldo returning to Old Trafford.

MARCA claim Ronaldo will stay at the Bernabeu - while a proposed blockbuster summer deal for Gareth Bale will also not be happening.

Mourinho is reportedly now happy to make the 29-year-old his one and only signing of this window, and will now turn his attentions to bringing in both and central midfielder and a central defender in the summer.

Earlier this week, Mourinho said: "If we have in our mind in the summer to improve the team in two or three positions, basically to improve the team in all the departments, if you have the chance to do something now it means that you don’t do in the summer.

"In the summer, we would probably have three transfers to do. If we do one now, in the summer it is three minus one."

United were believed to be concerned over Bale's injury record, with the Welshman having multiple problems in recent years.

Ronaldo meanwhile has also been linked with PSG, with Brazilian Neymar tipped to move in the opposite direction.
