Man Utd fans will be shocked by this Marouane Fellaini stat

Marouane Fellaini scored twice on Saturday as Manchester United thrashed Crystal Palace 4-0 at Old Trafford.

The big Belgian midfielder has now played in six of our seven Premier League matches so far this season, starting three of them and scoring three goals.

Fellaini has started our last three Premier League matches following Paul Pogba’s injury, though missed our 4-1 defeat of CSKA Moscow in the Champions League last week due to a knock.

The 29-year-old had been much maligned heading into the 2017-18 season following mostly below-par performances during his four years at Old Trafford.

David Moyes’ decision to sign him from former club Everton for £27.5 million transfer fee in the summer of 2013 always made it difficult for Fellaini to win over both fans and pundits alike.

However, Marouane Fellaini has had an excellent start to the new season.  The aforementioned three goals in six Premier League appearances puts the 76-time Belgian international on par with Sadio Mane, Danny Welbeck and Javier Hernandez, and more than the likes of Philippe Coutinho, Alexis Sanchez, Eden Hazard, Roberto Firmino, Dele Alli, Michy Batshuayi, Olivier Giroud, Pedro, Theo Walcott, Mesut Ozil, Kevin De Bruyne, Daniel Sturridge, Cesc Fabregas, Willian and Wayne Rooney have scored so far this season.

What’s more, one statistic that many fans, including Manchester United, will not believe: we have not conceded a single goal in the 421 minutes Marouane Fellaini has been on the pitch in all competition so far this season.

We have kept clean sheets in six of our seven Premier League games so far this season.  Coincidentally, our 2-2 draw versus Stoke City was the only game in which Fellaini hasn’t played so far.  The midfielder played 71 minutes in our 3-0 win over FC Basel in the Champions League, but not our 4-1 victory over CSKA Moscow.  Fellaini didn’t feature in our 4-1 win over Burton Albion in the EFL Cup either, and he came on as a substitute in the UEFA Super when we were 0-2 down to Real Madrid – the game finished 1-2.

How long will this record go on for?  Right now, it seems like Jose Mourinho needs to play Fellaini as much as possible!
