Everton will have youngster Jonjoe Kenny facing a late fitness test to see if he is available for today’s Europa League clash against Lyon after he picked up a knock during England youth international duty.

From the longer term injury list, James McCarthy played 45 minutes for the Under-23s over the weekend, but is not ready to play a full game as yet. Ronald Koeman did mention that he would be in contention for the Sunday game against Arsenal.

Yannick Bolasie and Seamus Coleman continue to recuperate from their injuries with a tentative return date of November, while Ross Barkley is expected to be just behind them.

Opponents Olympique Lyonnais are undergoing a bit of an injury crisis of their own as they will be without up to five first teamers themselves. Forward Mariano Diaz and left back Ferland Mendy have been ruled out of the clash against Everton, while midfielders Pape Cheikh Diop and Clement Grenier, and central defender Jeremy Morel are all also injured and will not be part of the squad traveling to Goodison Park.

The absence of Diaz will be felt by Lyon as he is their joint top scorer with seven goals this season, with the former Real Madrid player featuring in every game of the season so far.

Manager Bruno Genesio has added under-21s goalie Dorian Grange, defender Dylan Mboumbouni, midfielder Elisha Owusu and forward Alan Dzabana to the traveling party.
