Write what you want to write! | Koeman defiant until the very end

Ronald Koeman continues to insist that he can still make something of this motley crew of highly-priced players, but meanwhile the results continue to act as nails in what can only be his Everton managerial career coffin.

After today’s 5-2 capitulation at Goodison Park against Arsenal, here are his comments -

"The final result is a big defeat. We started well, from the beginning we had difficulties stopping Arsenal creating chances"

"We were unlucky in the way they made it 1-1. We had to change something, the first 10 minutes after half time was better"

"It was already difficult at 11 against 11. It was impossible 10 against 11"

There’s very little going right for him right now, but he insists that he can fix this situation, with the Blues virtually out of Europe and mired in the relegation zone with a quarter of the season gone.

"Personally I still believe I can change the whole situation. But ok, everyone knows how it works in football."

But he left the room with a parting shot, saying -

"Write what you want to write."
