Everton have contacted potential Bayern Munich manager

With Farhad Moshiri making the decision today to terminate Ronald Koeman’s time at Everton, the rumour mill has already gone into overdrive with possible replacements. With the season already underway, the expectation is that interim appointment David Unsworth will get the club to some stability until a logical time to appoint a manager permanently.

If the Blues like the list of potential replacements who are currently available, then the new manager might even be in as soon as the next international break, which is scheduled for the second week of November.

However, if Everton choose to wait for someone currently employed in the game then they could feasibly wait until the January transfer window or even the end of the season, all depending on how well Unsworth does right away.

The Mirror are reporting that Everton have already reached out to the representatives of former Borussia Dortmund manager Thomas Tuchel, who is currently out of work. The German had led BVB to the DFB Cup trophy at the end of last season, but was relieved of his duties just days after winning that accolade.

Tuchel was current Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp’s successor at BVB two years ago, and was sacked following what was termed a breakdown in his relationship with the club’s board. Matters had appeared to escalate especially after the terrorist attack on the team’s bus before their Champions League quarter final game against Monaco.

The 43-year-old led Dortmund to the quarter-finals of the 2015-16 Europa League where they were eliminated by Liverpool, lost the 2016 DFB-Pokal Final to Bayern Munich on penalties and finished second to the same team in the Bundesliga.

In his second and last season, he finally won a trophy lifting the Cup and guiding Dortmund to third place in the Bundesliga, three points behind RB Leipzig.

Reports say that Tuchel is considered to be weighing his options, especially since the coveted Bayern Munich job is also available following the firing of Carlo Ancelotti, who has also been linked with the Toffees job but has previously said he is considering taking a year off.
