The horse may finally be dead.

Well then. Is it over?

It seems like it might finally be over.

According to the Telegraph, Swansea City’s Gylfi Sigurdsson will be on Merseyside tomorrow in order to complete his move to Everton Football Club.

Blues fans and players alike will be relieved that the ordeal is finally ending. Sigurdsson represents a significant acquisition for Everton - the Icelandic playmaker will be expected to become Ronald Koeman’s primary creative outlet, through which most of the attack will run.

Assuming that Sigurdsson passes the medical examination, the language of “worth up to £45 million” is in line with what the Mail reported earlier. The initial fee will be £40 million, with up to £5 million in additional bonuses, to be paid in two installments.

Either way, Sigurdsson won’t be ready to play for Everton against Hajduk Split, and it’s highly unlikely he’d feature against Manchester City on Monday, either. Expect to see Everton’s new star to debut against Chelsea on 27 August.
