The latest rumours are no less preposterous than the previous ones, but in a way it’s a matter of Everton’s own doing knowing that Romelu Lukaku was going to leave this offseason.
The Mirror are linking Everton with making a move for Watford FC reject Stefano Okaka, claiming that Ronald Koeman is a fan of the one-time Italian international who has played for more Serie A sides than he has scored goals in the Premier League.
Okaka has 5 goals in 21 appearances for Watford, including two for the Hornets last season against Everton and one this season against Liverpool. Occasionally capable of the sublime, Okaka is a powerfully-built forward strong in the air but tends to also disappear for long periods of the game as well.

Considered at one point to be Italy’s next biggest thing, he has since fallen on harder times as he has yet to realize the potential he has shown. Everton placing their Premier League top six aspirations at the feet of the 28-year-old is unfortunately an even bigger gamble than taking Enner Valencia on loan, and we all know how that turned out.
