Everton are desperately scouring the squads of various clubs in a bid to pry away a forward to fill in the striker vacancy at Goodison Park.

This morning the Blues have been linked with making multiple enquiries, primarily for two players.

Michy Batshuayi has been an unhappy camper at Chelsea for some time now, and has often been linked with a move away. The Toffees have made an approach for him, but it appears that Chelsea selling the player (or loaning him out) is contingent on Fernando Llorente going to Stamford Bridge. However, that move seems to have been scuppered by Tottenham with the Spaniard looking like he’s headed there instead.

Meanwhile, Arsenal had beaten Everton to the signature of Lucas Perez last summer. That didn’t turn out too well for him though as he endured a tough year at the Gunners. Now it appears he is pushing for a move back to Deportivo la Coruna, but the Spanish team is struggling to find the funds to bring him back.

With a loan move possible, Newcastle and Everton are sniffing around to see if they can steal a march and snatch the forward instead. Is there a bidding war on the cards now?

Per Sky Sports, Everton have approached the London club with a view to taking him on a season-long loan, but it appears the player has his heart set on going back to Spain.
