Everton Ladies lose 0-3 against Arsenal Women

Blue Girls will need to improve.. fast

Arsenal Women Twitter

Everton Ladies’ pre-season game against WSL1 opponent Arsenal Women proved to be quite the challenge, going down 0-3 just in the first half. The Blue girls did improve and were able to keep the Arsenal Women scoreless in the second half.

The Toffees started their two new signings from Netherlands, Siri Worm and Marthe Munsterman. Noticeably missing from the lineup was Everton Captain Michelle Hinnigan. Arsenal Women started American midfielder Heather O’Reilly and Euro Golden Boot winner Jodie Taylor.

It’s starting to look like the Everton Ladies side will need to add a few more quality players if they are looking to be competitive in the WSL1 this season.

Highlights from the game:

5 minutes in: Everton got a shot on goal but the Arsenal Women goalkeeper made a great save.

17 minutes in: England international midfielder Jordan Nobbs put in a volley to make it 0-1.

25 minutes in: England international forward Jodie Taylor made the score 0-2.

38 minutes in: Forward Dan Carter scored the third goal with an assist from Lisa Evans.
