Everton have sent out their last recognized left back not named Leighton Baines out on loan, that too for the season. Callum Connolly, who featured at the position for the Under-23 side last season and also played fullback in a couple of games this preseason for the Toffees senior side will join up with Ipswich Town for the rest of the season.

Often called the Tractor Boys, Ipswich are off to a flying start in the Championship, winning four of their first five games under Mick McCarthy and are in second place three points behind Cardiff City.

Connolly made his Everton senior team debut in April towards the end of the 2015-16 season. He was also part of England’s Under-20 World Cup-winning squad as well as lifting the Premier League 2 title last season with the Everton Under-23 team. He was out on loan in the second half of last season at Wigan Athletic, picking up two goals in 17 appearances.

This is an excellent opportunity for the youngster to continue his development and he joins the six other Toffees in the Championship - Tyias Browning, Brendan Galloway, Kieran Dowell, Joe Williams, Matthew Pennington and Antonee Robinson.
