Mourinho expects Pogba to miss Everton game on Sunday

Manchester United’s star midfielder Paul Pogba left the Champions League game against Basel with a suspected hamstring injury. He seemed to pull up short after an innocuous challenge, but clutched at the back of his thigh before being taken off in the first half.

After the game, manager Jose Mourinho maintained a stoic attitude as he spoke to the media about the injury -

“I don’t know. It looks for me too [like a hamstring injury] but I haven't spoken yet with him or the medical department.

"Squads are for this, squads are for injuries, squads are for suspensions. We don't cry with injuries. So if no Paul for Sunday, we have Herrera, we have Carrick, we have Fellaini and we have Matic.

"I just know from experience it's a muscular injury. In my experience, muscular injury stops you from playing for a few weeks, I think."

Pogba has been a critical component of the midfield for United so far this season, so this is a lucky break for Everton who travel to Old Trafford on Sunday. The Blues can sympathize, with their own injury woes sidelining Seamus Coleman, Yannick Bolasie and Ramiro Funes Mori for months now, with other players succumbing to minor issues.
