Final Verdict

Despite putting in a much better performance all-around, the Blues somehow still managed to find a way to lose the game 2-1. Everton’s goal did seem to come out of nowhere, but the winner they conceded was awful in that two of the best players on the day Phil Jagielka and Jordan Pickford were both responsible in letting it in.

So, another day, another Merseyside Derby loss, away this time and gone is the (unrealistic) last chance of a trophy this season as well.
