Kristaps Porzingis is 7’3 with an eight-foot wingspan, so rightfully, he has great success defending players of any length, size, or speed. But Porzingis and the rest of the New York Knicks were no match for Anthony Davis, who went on an absolute tear on Sunday.
Example A:
Davis went off for a season-high 48 points, 17 rebounds, four steals, and three blocks to power the Pelicans through a 19-point second-half deficit to a 123-118 OT win over the Knicks. He shot 17-of-30 (56 percent) from the field and 12-of-15 from the foul line.
The Brow even made shots that didn’t count.
SPLASH!

Davis has scored at least 35 points in each of his last three games at Madison Square Garden, but the relative ease with which he poured in 48 on Sunday should send waves throughout the league. The Pelicans’ All-Star is averaging 26 points, 10 rebounds, two blocks, and a steal this season.
And if he keeps playing like this, he just might bring New Orleans back to the West playoffs.
