Highlights from the second day of the fourth Test between England and South Africa at Old Trafford

Jonny Bairstow fell one run short of a ton as England established a lead of 142 runs over South Africa on day two of the fourth Test.

Bowling from the James Anderson End, England's leading wicket-taker returned Test-best figures at his home ground - picking up Temba Bavuma and Faf Du Plessis in the space of three balls in the final session.

England had begun the day on 260-6 with aspirations of reaching 350 but surpassed that goal thanks to a last-wicket stand of 50 between Bairstow and Anderson.

In conditions more suited to batting than on day one, South Africa struggled to counter England's attack - Anderson setting the tone by striking with his third delivery.

Spinner Moeen Ali chipped in with 2-57 to take his tally of victims for the series to 20 and don't miss a superb, one-handed catch by Ben Stokes that sent back Kagiso Rabada in the final over of the day.
