Some major deals are already in place ahead of the January transfer window opening next week, while many of Europe's biggest clubs are finalising their mid-season recruitment plans.

Our friends at Football Whispers have trawled through the continental media to round-up the latest transfer stories.

Philippe Coutinho remains Barcelona's first-choice signing, but they are keeping tabs on Gremio's Arthur and also Mesut Ozil at Arsenal. It is claimed the Spanish side would be willing to offer the Gunners Arda Turan to sweeten any January deal. (AS)

Nike made a huge error on their website in the early hours of Sunday morning. Offering the option to add a name to the Barcelona shirt for free, they jumped the gun in suggesting Liverpool's playmaker was an option. "Coutinho is already prepared to impress the Camp Nou. Get the shirt of Barça 2017/18 with the name of the magician" said the site before it was quickly removed. (AS)

The imminent arrival of Kepa Arrizabalaga from Athletic Bilbao has put the future of Real Madrid's second-choice keeper Kiko Casilla under doubt. He has been limited to cup duties and with the new man on his way, it could herald his exit from the Santiago Bernabeu. (Marca)

Despite all the transfer talk surrounding Antoine Griezmann, Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone hopes he can bring Diego Costa and the Frenchman together in their attack for a period of time. Costa will finally be allowed to play when the transfer window opens. (Marca)

Liverpool remain one of the favourites to land Leon Goretzka from Schalke, either on a free, or for a cut-price deal in January. However, Barcelona are also monitoring the situation and see him as the ideal addition to their midfield. (Marca)
