Manchester United will capitalise on the vulnerabilities shown by Man City in recent weeks and win the derby, says Quinton Fortune

Manchester United can beat Manchester City despite the absence of midfielder Paul Pogba, says Quinton Fortune.

Jose Mourinho will be unable to select the France international for the Manchester derby as he is currently serving a three-game suspension after he was sent off for a challenge on Arsenal's Hector Bellerin last Saturday.

United beat Arsenal 3-1 last weekend despite only having 25 per cent possession and the former Red has backed them to secure a fifth consecutive win in the Manchester derby on Sunday, live on Sky Sports Premier League.

"First of all I can't see United losing against City, I think United will win," Fortune told Premier League Daily.

"They are playing a fantastic team but there's been signs in the last couple of weeks against West Ham and Huddersfield where I thought they were very fortunate.

"You can see in their game play that there's opportunities for United to capitalise on that. They have some fantastic players, but who will be fit? There's talk David Silva might not be able to play.

"Then there's the big one - Paul Pogba - I think he would have made a big difference but I still think United have enough quality to win the game.

"It's too early [to call it a title decider] but in terms of 11points, it'll make it harder for United to catch them."

Despite heaping praise on the City manager, the South African said he would prefer to work under the guidance of Jose Mourinho.

"Any footballer would say to play under Pep would be a dream," he added.

"I talk to some of the lads about Jose Mourinho in terms of preparation and his attention to detail. A lot of people seem to think he's defensive-minded but I think he's just doing it his way and he's getting results."
