Jose Mourinho caught journalists off-guard again by turning up to his press conference shortly after Man Utd's 2-1 defeat by Bristol City

Jose Mourinho caught journalists off-guard again by turning up to his press conference shortly after Man Utd's 2-1 defeat by Bristol City.

Mourinho, who had just watched his side crash out of the Carabao Cup thanks to Korey Smith's stoppage-time winner for Championship side Bristol City, immediately went to his press conference to a near-empty press room.

He took questions from just one journalist, crediting Bristol City for the victory but re-iterating that they were lucky, before concluding the press conference after just two minutes. Sky Sports' cameras were in the press conference recording Mourinho, however.

Mourinho did then speak to Sky Sports, criticising his players for their performance.

"For some of us it was one more day in the office, probably a day that some of them don't even want to come to the office! For the Bristol boys it was a big, big day for them, and in the first half you could see that."

Mourinho said on Sky Sports that Bristol City were lucky to beat Man Utd

This isn't the first time Mourinho has beaten the press; he wasn't asked a single question in his 11-second press conference last season after the 2-0 win over Crystal Palace at Old Trafford.

On the last day of the 2016/17 season, Mourinho entered the room for his post-match press conference while many of the journalists at the ground were still in the press box to watch the players taking part in a lap of honour.
