Cesar Azpilicueta believes Chelsea's comeback victory over Watford is their "first step" to reigniting their faltering start to the season.

Antonio Conte's side have struggled to rediscover their scintillating form from last season which saw the Blues become Premier League champions in the Italian's first campaign in charge.

Heading into the fixture against high-flying Watford, the Blues were without a victory in their previous three matches but they recovered from a 2-1 deficit to record a 4-2 victory against Marco Silva's side.

"We know it's a long season and we will have ups and downs. This has been a difficult period but this is the first step to get out and get our confidence up."
