Oumar Niasse says that his positive attitude has helped him to overcome his slow start at Everton and become a first-team player.

Niasse was signed in February 2016 by Roberto Martinez, but was sent on loan to Hull nearly a year later by Ronald Koeman after playing just five Premier League matches and scoring no goals.

Koeman made it clear that Niasse was surplus to requirements at Goodison Park, but he has since reintegrated Niasse into his Everton squad following the departure of Romelu Lukaku.

Niasse has justified his manager's decision, scoring three times in three games this season, including both goals as Everton came from behind to beat Bournemouth.

The striker believes the key to his recent success has been his mentality. He said: "I think the most important thing is to be ready and I have been every time.

"The first three or four months here were difficult but after that I've kept my mind and I've tried to settle and I think I'm settling very, very well now.

"I will not say I'm lucky, I'm blessed. I always take things in a positive way in my life because some things can be negative, but if you look more forward you're going to see that you have a lot more positive things in your life."

"Every time anything bad happens, I say that good things will happen soon. That helps me to always believe in myself and believe in what I'm doing."

Niasse has played across Europe during his career, and he says his early struggles at Goodison Park were nothing compared to his past experiences.

Ronald Koeman explains why Oumar Niasse was not named in Everton's Europa League squad

He said: "It's not difficult when you arrive at Everton, it's much more difficult when I left to go to Russia and Turkey.

"I remember when I arrived, Aaron Lennon was saying every day, 'If there's anything you need, call me.'

"At Everton when you arrive there are always people to help you settle and asking you about everything you need.

"In the future anything could happen to you and you always think this club can help you."
