Former Manchester United and Tottenham striker Dimitar Berbatov has signed a one-year deal with Indian Super League side Kerala Blasters.

Sky sources reported last week Berbatov was on the verge of completing a move to the Blasters, who recently appointed former United first-team coach Rene Meulensteen as manager.

The club tweeted confirmation of Berbatov's signing on Wednesday, saying: "Golden touch, turns like a dream & a deadly finish. The Bulgarian Hitman is set to take ISL by storm."

The 36-year-old former Bulgaria international adds to the growing Manchester United connection at Kerala. Ex-United defender Wes Brown and former club goalkeeper Paul Rachubka joined the Kochi-based franchise last week.

Earlier this month, former Republic of Ireland captain Robbie Keane joined reigning ISL champions ATK, who will be coached next season by former England striker Teddy Sheringham.

ATK also announced a signing on Wednesday, confirming the arrival of 23-year-midfielder Conor Thomas from League Two Swindon Town.
