West Brom are in talks with Fenerbahce over a deal for Brazil international defender Josef de Souza, Sky Sports News understands.

The 28-year-old, who can also play centrally or on the right side of defence, has been playing in Turkey since 2015 and also had a spell in Portugal with Porto.

Sky Sports News understands De Souza would cost around £10m.

But a deal for De Souza could be complicated by him not having a European passport, making it tougher for him to get a work permit.

De Souza has been capped three times by Brazil but the last of those appearances came back in 2015 while he was still playing at home for Sao Paulo.

West Brom boss Tony Pulis said on Sunday he was looking to add another four players to his squad, and speculation continues over the future of centre-back Jonny Evans.

Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho remains a target for Pulis, but his arrival at The Hawthorns could be dependent on Evans leaving - the club has rejected a £21m offer from the Foxes for the Northern Ireland international according to Sky sources.

Sky Sports News understands it may only be if Evans goes that Pulis can afford to pay Liverpool's transfer fee, which could be as high as £30m, and Sakho's wages.
