David Wagner acknowledged that Burnley were the better team during Huddersfield's 0-0 draw at the John Smith's Stadium.
Burnley had the best chances to score through Steven Defour, Johann Gudmundsson and Nahki Wells while Jeff Hendrick also had a penalty appeal turned down.
Huddersfield shaded possession but only managed one shot on target throughout the game and Wagner admitted that his side were not at their best.
"It was a very tough game for us I'm very pleased with this point and a clean sheet as well. I think everyone can see why Burnley are 7th in the Premier League," he said.
"They had the better chances and more chances so it was a point that we had to work very hard for but Burnley were the better team today.
"We looked a bit tired today, we were very sloppy with our passing, the first touch was not good enough so we were not able to have enough ball possession.
"Football-wise we were not at our best but the players worked and fought which is the least you have to do when you are not at your best. This is what they did and that's why I'm happy."
Both teams drew 0-0 in the corresponding fixture earlier in the season and there were not too many clear-cut openings for either side in the second game between the two either.
Unquestionably the biggest moment of the match centred around Burnley's penalty appeal on the hour mark with Sean Dyche claiming that the referee made an 'impossible' decision by not awarding it after Hendrick went down under Jonas Lossl's challenge.
However, Wagner insisted he was too far away from the incident to make a judgement, saying: "I haven't seen the video footage to be honest. I was too far away. Maybe we were lucky in this case but on many times this season we have been unlucky."
