Highlights: Man City 5-0 Liverpool

I was at the Etihad on Saturday, where Sergio Aguero scored for the sixth consecutive home league game against Liverpool, equalling my co-commentator on the day Thierry Henry, who did it for Arsenal against Aston Villa; Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink who did it for Chelsea against West Ham; and Alan Shearer, who did it for Blackburn / Newcastle against Everton.

Aguero has now scored 124 Premier League goals, overtaking Dwight Yorke for the record for a non-European player.

The 5-0 loss was Liverpool's first away defeat in the Premier League since a 3-1 loss at Leicester in February. It was their first defeat in 15 Premier League games against sides who finished in the top six last season.

Pep Guardiola levelled up against Jurgen Klopp in all meetings. They have played 11, drawn one and won five each.

It was City's first win in six Premier League meetings with Liverpool, having taken one point from the previous five.

In 12 Premier League starts, Gabriel Jesus has been directly involved in 14 goals, scoring 10 and assisting four.

John Stones was finally a winner against Liverpool at the eighth attempt and Man City are still unbeaten at home since before last Christmas. Their last home defeat was the frenzy of a fixture against Chelsea in December 2016.

Back down to Earth

Other than Liverpool, has a Premier League team ever won by 4+ goals one week, then lost by 4+ goals the next week? (Alan)

MARTIN SAYS: Liverpool (4-0 v Arsenal, 0-5 v Man City) are not alone. Four other Premier League teams have followed up a thumping win with an equally thumping defeat.

On the back of their title-winning 4-0 victory over Everton in May 1998, Arsenal may have been celebrating too hard as they were thrashed 4-0 by Liverpool in their next game.

In 2010/11, Blackpool started life in the Premier League with a 4-0 win over Wigan on the opening day, but were then brought back down to earth with a 6-0 defeat at Arsenal the next weekend.

Last season, David Moyes' joy was short lived at Sunderland after they beat Crystal Palace 4-0 - and were then humbled by the same scoreline against Southampton next time out.

And the same back-to-back scorelines were posted by Coventry in 1994 with victory over Manchester City and defeat at Newcastle.

Has anyone scored more Premier League goals as a teenager than Marcus Rashford? (Mark)

MARTIN SAYS: Yes, plenty!

The Manchester United youngster only sits 13th on the list of highest scoring teenagers with 12 goals so far - and he's unlikely to make any inroads on the players above him as he turns 20 on October 31.

This means he's only got six games to rise up this particular league.

Top of the tree is Michael Owen, whose early impact at Liverpool saw him find the net 40 times as a teenager. Maybe his inspiration came from watching Robbie Fowler at Anfield? The striker managed 35 Premier League goals before his 20th birthday.

Wayne Rooney completes a talented top three having notched 30 times for a combination of Everton and Manchester United in his early days.

It's tough for teenagers to break in to the Premier League these days. Rashford took advantage of a lucky break when Anthony Martial got injured in his warm-up for that Europa League game - and then scored twice on his Premier League debut against Arsenal a few days later. He has never looked back.

Most PL goals as a teenager

Player Goals
Michael Owen 40
Robbie Fowler 35
Wayne Rooney 30
Nicholas Anelka 19
Alan Smith 17
Francis Jeffers 17
Chris Bart-Williams 14
Romelu Lukaku 14
Raheem Sterling 14
Emile Heskey 13
Ryan Giggs 12
Robbie Keane 12
Marcus Rashford 12

A suffering Crystal Palace fan here: has any English team ever lost their first five league matches without scoring? (Rich)

MARTIN SAYS: Life was tough in the Premier League for Frank De Boer, who oversaw Palace's worst start to a season since 1925.

They've become the first team to lose their first four Premier League games without scoring, although they did miss some fantastic chances on Sunday against Burnley.

Live Premier League

Palace have become just one of four teams in top-flight history to post such a dismal opening sequence of results, the others being Derby County (1899-00), Stoke City (1906-07) and Preston North End (1924-25). If they lose and fail to score against Southampton, live on Sky Sports on Saturday, they will set an unwanted new top-flight record.

They would also equal the all-time English league record.

They will be looking to avoid joining Hartlepool (Third Division North, 1938/39) and Sunderland (Second Division, 1985/86) in becoming the third team to rack up such a run. Hartlepool were relegated after their poor start, but Sunderland stayed up!

Highlights: Arsenal 3-0 Bournemouth

Arsenal have now won seven Premier League games in a row at the Emirates. Is this a record? (Oliver)

MARTIN SAYS: You're right, over the last two seasons they have now won seven in a row at home against West Ham, Leicester, Man Utd, Sunderland, Everton, Leicester again and Bournemouth on Saturday. The last game they failed to win at home in the league was a 2-2 draw with Manchester City on April 2.

However, they are still two matches short of their best winning league run at the Emirates. They won nine in a row between December 3 2014 and April 4 2015 as they beat Southampton, Newcastle, QPR, Stoke, Aston Villa, Leicester, Everton, West Ham and Liverpool. The run ended with a goalless draw against Chelsea.

Arsenal will need to win their next three home league games - against West Brom (live on Sky Sports), Brighton and Swansea - to break their best winning run at the Emirates.

They would need to win a further four games - against Tottenham (live on Sky Sports), Huddersfield, Manchester United and Newcastle to break their Premier League home winning record - which was set at their former ground of Highbury.

After a 2-1 defeat to Manchester United on February 1, 2005 they won 13 league games in a row at Highbury before a 2-0 defeat to Chelsea on December 18, 2005.
