Former Hull FC favourite Jordan Rankin has made his move to Huddersfield permanent.

The 25-year-old Australian utility back, who has played the last seven matches for the Giants after joining them on a short-term deal from Wests Tigers, has now signed a three-year contract to remain at the John Smith's Stadium.

"I'm very happy to have signed a new deal with the Giants," said Rankin, who scored 21 tries in 47 appearances in his first stint in Super League for Hull from 2013-15.

"Rick Stone, the coaches and all the playing staff have been fantastic from the day I arrived here and I want to be able to repay them for that.

"The club is heading in the right direction and I'm delighted to have signed this three-year contract. I feel I've joined the club at the right time with results going our way and our team looking strong as we aim to finish the season well."

Rankin has deputised for injured full-back Jake Mamo over the last two months but can also play either half-back role.

Huddersfield coach Stone said: "Jordan's made a really good impact on the pitch since he's been here.

"He's got the flexibility of playing in a few positions. Key ball-playing roles are really important in a footy team and he's got the ability to play those roles.

"If needed, Jordan is more than capable of stepping up into the halves. He's a good ball-runner, he's got sharp feet, a good skill-set and a good kicking game.

"He's only 25 and has got a lot of good rugby ahead of him. He's a great acquisition for us."
