Roma's Edin Dzeko: 'I feel good' in Eusebio Di Francesco's new system

Edin Dzeko says he is enjoying life at Roma under Eusebio Di Francesco -- just a week after he had appeared to criticise the new coach's style of play.

Following a goalless draw against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League last week, Dzeko, who was Serie A's top scorer last season with 29 goals, suggested that he was unlikely to score as many this term since Di Francesco's style did not suit him.

The Bosnia and Herzegovina international has since scored four goals in two games for Roma and says the new system is good for him.

"The truth is the more I play, the better I feel," he told reporters following his brace in Wednesday's 4-0 win over Benevento. "I like this new system and I feel good in it."

Di Francesco praised the 31-year-old, who has scored 21 goals in his last 21 Serie A games, saying that he is now "getting closer to the goal" and that "what impressed me the most, though, is how he tracked back to defend."

Di Francesco added: "If we are creating so many chances, then clearly something is getting through to the players' heads."

Dzeko's contract at Roma runs until 2020, though former club Wolfsburg are still hoping he could return to them next summer.

"If he's on the market and we need someone in his position, we must consider him," Wolfsburg sporting director Olaf Rebbe told Sport Bild.

Dzeko won the Bundesliga title with Wolfsburg, forming the most prolific attack partnership in the history of the Bundesliga with Grafite. They notched 54 goals between them in 2008-09, with 26 of them scored by Dzeko.
