Alvaro Morata: I'd only return to Madrid after winning everything with Chelsea

Alvaro Morata says he would only consider returning to Real Madrid for the third time in his career once he has won "all there is to win" with Chelsea.

The Spain international has scored seven goals and set up three more in 10 Premier League appearances, nine as a starter, since his €65 million summer arrival from Madrid.

"Of course I would return to Real Madrid once I win all there is to win with Chelsea and after a long and successful career at Chelsea," Morata told Cadena Ser. "It's difficult to say no to Madrid, especially for a Madridista. You never know, but I think it's very difficult and I honestly don't think it's going to happen.

"It's something I don't even consider. I owe a lot to Chelsea. I'm very happy at Chelsea and the only thing on my mind is playing for Chelsea."

A youth product of Real, Morata left the club to join Juventus in the summer of 2014 in search of more football.

After two successful seasons with the Italian giants, he rejoined Madrid but was only given 14 La Liga starts by coach Zinedine Zidane.

Morata soon realised that his dream of having a long and successful career at his home club would not materialise.

"Of course I'm jealous of [Dani] Carvajal and Nacho [Fernandez]," Morata said of the two Real youth products that have earned regular first-team action under Zidane. "Real Madrid is the top team that there is. Of course I would have liked to have spent my whole life at Real Madrid but if it cannot be, it cannot be and you have to move on.

"I was happy in Madrid but in the end, I didn't play against any of the top teams like Barcelona. I have this personality and I want to play and be important wherever I am. Zidane understood this and I'm grateful that he did and he allowed me to leave."

The 25-year-old Morata signed a five-year contract with Chelsea.

"I'm very happy and it's evident," he said. "I'm the centre forward for a very important club in England. I have the opportunity to make history. If I win the Premier League, I think I will become the first Spanish player to win the league in Italy, Spain and England."

Morata says he would love to face Madrid in a Champions League final and lead Chelsea to glory.

"I would sign for it," Morata, a two-time Champions League winner with Real, said. "I would love to play a Champions League final against Real Madrid and win it."

Morata added he is enjoying life in London and has more freedom there than in his home city of Madrid.

"We are very happy," he said. "My life is calmer in London. I can go out for a walk without people reminding me about a game. The only issue about living in central London is that I get a lot of traffic when going to training. Sometimes it even takes me an hour but it gives me the opportunity to call home and speak to the family."

Morata does, however, miss the weather in Spain.

"That's the big difference," he said. "It's not as bad as people told me it would be. The sun does come out but just for half an hour and then it goes away. And when it does, we are all like reptiles rushing to the terrace. Then again if London had the sun, imagine how much the square metre would be at, considering it's already expensive."
