Jordan Henderson will be forced to miss Liverpool's game with Swansea City due to injury, while Jurgen Klopp was non-committal on whether he plans to rotate his goalkeeper for the Boxing Day fixture.
Henderson limped off injured 11 minutes into Liverpool's 3-3 draw at Arsenal on Friday night, with the captain replaced in central midfield by James Milner.
Klopp has ruled Henderson out of the Boxing Day fixture, but believes there are no other fresh injury concerns after the trip to London.
"The problem is that Hendo won't feature at all. He's out, for sure," Klopp told a news conference. "That makes the feeling [of the Arsenal game] even worse because we were really OK with injuries.
"Now it happens at the beginning of this period -- or the middle of the period, whatever. Not too cool. But how I heard, nobody else -- a few knocks, but they should be OK again."
With Simon Mignolet at fault for Granit Xhaka's goal during the Arsenal draw, Klopp was asked whether he plans to rotate his goalkeeper for the upcoming match at Anfield on Dec. 26.
"We will see," he replied. "I didn't make decisions about lineups in this moment. That's not even a 'perhaps.' I didn't think about it until now."
Meanwhile, unless they appoint a permanent manager before Boxing Day, Liverpool will face a Swansea side with midfielder Leon Britton in the dugout after Paul Clement's dismissal earlier this week.
Klopp says Britton is in a similar situation to when he first got into management, replacing Eckhard Krautzun at Mainz back in 2001.
"If he stays as manager then it's the same career I had years ago," Klopp said of the long-time Swansea player, who has already ruled himself out of being Clement's permanent successor. "That's how I became manager, so maybe Mr. Britton takes the chance.
"If I would say I know him well, that would be a lie. I know him as a player, of course, but that's what Mainz did with me.
"He's a much better footballer than I was, so that makes it more dangerous. I think there's a chance. Why not?"
