Geoff Cameron to miss two weeks for Stoke City with injury - source

Stoke City defender Geoff Cameron will be sidelined for about two weeks after picking up a hamstring injury on Saturday, a source with knowledge of the situation confirmed to ESPN FC.

The U.S. international pulled up while grabbing his right leg just before half-time against Manchester United and was replaced by Bruno Martins Indi as the second half began.

The timeline for his recovery, earlier reported by NBC Sports, means he will miss Stoke's Premier League games against Newcastle and Chelsea, as well as the league cup clash at Bristol City.

He should be able to return in time to face Southampton on Sept. 30 before returning to the U.S. for the next international break.

With World Cup qualification far from certain, the U.S. hosts Panama on Oct. 6 before traveling to Trinidad and Tobago four days later.

Cameron, 32, started in the Americans' World Cup qualifying defeat to Costa Rica last week and came on as a sub in the draw at Honduras.

ESPN FC's U.S. national team correspondent Jeff Carlisle contributed to this report.
