Thierry Henry discusses David Luiz's sending off for Chelsea against Arsenal on Sunday
Thierry Henry insisted that David Luiz full deserved his red card during Chelsea’s goalless draw with Arsenal on Sunday.
The Brazilian defender was given his marching orders late on for a dangerous tackle on Arsenal defender Sead Kolasinac.
Luiz was shown a straight red card and will now be suspended for Chelsea’s next three domestic games.
And former Arsenal star Henry feels that Luiz can have no complaints about his sending off due to the nature of the tackle.
Speaking to Sky Sports after Sunday’s game, Henry said of the incident: “He’s upset with Alexis Sanchez, he’s trying to barge him out of the way.
“He forgets to play football and because he’s upset with Sanchez he took his frustration out on Kolasinac. It’s a red card, no doubt.”
Chelsea’s draw with Arsenal on Sunday left them in third place in the Premier League table, having taken 10 points from their opening five games.
Arsenal, meanwhile, are down in 12th place after having only won two of their opening five games in the top flight.
