Arsenal are tracking Fiorentina goalkeeper Giacomo Satalino as they line up the ageing Petr Cech’s replacement

Arsene Wenger is aware that Arsenal need to look for a goalkeeper that can take over from Petr Cech when the veteran hangs up his gloves

ARSENAL are weighing up a move for teenage goalkeeping sensation Giacomo Satalino as they want to find the best long term solution to Petr Cech's retirement.

Satalino plays in the youth ranks at Fiorentina and is highly rated in Italy signing his first professional contract with the club in April of this year.

According to Fiorentina news the 17 year old would act as a long term replacement for Cech with Arsene Wenger interested in buying the young keeper now so he can learn from the best.

Arsenal have a host of goalkeepers but none are believed to have the required potential to reach the level of Cech.

David Ospina is a possible candidate to take over the mantle when Cech decides to retire but that does not seem to be in the immediate future and the Colombian is said to be frustrated with the lack of games at Arsenal so he may leave the club before Cech.

That could give Wenger a goalkeeping headache and he may be forced to sign a keeper with more experience to help blood a younger keeper in to the Arsenal team.

Emi Martinez and Wojciech Szczesny haven't been able to convince Wenger that they are good enough to play for Arsenal as first choice, which is why Szczesny is destined to leave permanently in the summer.

Szczesny was highly rated when he came over from Poland and made his way through the youth ranks at Arsenal before a loan spell at Brentford showed Wenger he had what it takes to be a top class goalkeeper.

But having made a number of blunders that cost the Gunners dearly Wenger lost patience with the Pole and sent him on loan to Roma.

Fraser Forster is an option for Arsenal and he has played a blinder whenever he has played against the Gunners.

Forster being English and a top class shot stopper is an attractive option to replace Cech and would allow time for Satalino to develop.

Joe Hart would be an extraordinary signing for Arsenal but they would have to move quick as his future at Manchester City looks bleak and he is likely to leave permanently in the summer after his loan spell at Torino comes to an end, unless Pep Guardiola changes his mind.
