Juventus enter race for Chelsea and Manchester United target Sergi Roberto and are willing to meet £36m release clause
Barcelona midfielder is set for showdown talks with Camp Nou chiefs over his role as fight for his signature hots up
JUVENTUS are prepared to fight Chelsea and Manchester United over Sergi Roberto, according to reports.
The Premier League duo are both ready to trigger the midfielder's £36m release clause as they eye reinforcements.
And Sport insist Juve will also be prepared to match the fee if the player is open to a move.
NOT PICKED YOUR FANTASY FOOTBALL TEAM YET? WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?
Roberto, 25, is set for showdown talks with Barcelona over his role for next season.
He wants to stay at the Nou Camp but is seeking reassurances about playing in his preferred position after being used as a makeshift right-back.
Barca landed Portugal star Nelson Semedo over the summer to reinforce the position and will hope the former Benfica star can hold down the spot.
That would allow Roberto to be used in the middle - if he can earn a first-team spot in a crowded engine room.
But if Brazil playmaker Philippe Coutinho completes a move from Liverpool, Roberto may be told he can leave.
Latest Barcelona news
Both Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte are desperate to sign midfield reinforcements.
The Blues chief is particularly concerned he is light in the area after Nemanja Matic moved to Old Trafford, with replacement Tiemoue Bakayoko injured.
Latest Chelsea news
Squad players Nathaniel Chalobah and Nathan Ake have also left the club and Conte is considering moves for Danny Drinkwater and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
