She wrote: "This is where you'll find me from now on."

The defender  was available for selection to face the Hammers, but missed out on making the squad.

The Sweden international, who signed from Benfica for £30 million, failed to even make the United bench.

The Swede failed to impress in his competitive debut for the Red Devils as they lost to Real Madrid in the UEFA Super Cup.

Mourinho has admitted he dropped Victor Lindelof after he struggled against Los Blancos.

He said: "Real Madrid [Super Cup] was too early for him.

"It’s not easy coming to the Premier League.

"Ricardo Carvalho – one of the best defenders in this league and it was difficult for him to adapt.

"Victor needs a little bit of time. We’ll give him that time. Let’s go, step-by-step."

Chris Smalling was handed a starting place ahead of Lindelof as  Mourinho decided against choosing the former Vasteras centre half.

Reports from Old Trafford claim that Lindelof is not injured but simply behind Smalling, Phil Jones and Eric Bailly in the pecking order.

Mourinho's defence won a clean sheet after starting with Jones and Bailly at centre back.
