Arsenal transfer news: Arsene Wenger makes stunning £92m Thomas Lemar bid as Gunners look to bring Monaco star to the Emirates

With the future of Alexis Sanchez in question, Arsene Wenger has filed a record-breaking bid to secure the Frenchman

ARSENAL have bid a British record £92million bid for Monaco ace Thomas Lemar.

Following the departure of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and the future of Alexis Sanchez in question, Arsene Wenger is ensuring there will be reinforcements at the Emirates.

The Gunners have been in pursuit of the France international all summer, and it appears that Arsene Wenger has decided to fork out the funds.

They will see the 21-year-old as a replacement for Sanchez, who is currently the target of a £60million bid from Manchester City.

Arsenal have had three offers rejected for Lemar this summer, including the highest of £50m.

The 21-year-old has also been the subject of three bids from Liverpool, but it appears that Wenger might be winning the deadline day tug-of-war with the latest record-breaking bid.

Jurgen Klopp's side biggest bid so far is £75m, which was neither accepted or rejected by the Ligue 1 giants.

The midfielder tallied 14 goals in 55 outings for the French outfit last term, which attracted him a wide range of interest from Europe's biggest clubs.

Earlier this month, the Arsenal chief had concluded that the Lemar transfer saga had grew tiresome and the deal was 'dead'.

Arsene Wenger claimed that Monaco had shut the door and had insisted that a deal was not going to be met.

Barcelona have also indicated their interest, but failed to make an official bid.
