Chelsea’s new defender Davide Zappacosta has landed at his dream club to go with his dream girl
The Chelsea new boy may have been a plan B buy for the blues but he could have hinted his desire to move to the London club with a tweet in May
CHELSEA snapped up relatively unknown Davide Zappacosta for £23million on deadline day when their attempts to land Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain fell flat.
But the Italian showed his support for the club earlier this year when he retweeted Chelsea's picture after they became Premier League Champions, possibly hinting to his hopes of joining the side.
He also said it was "a dream for me to join Chelsea" after his deal was finalised.
It could have also simply been a nod to the man that gave him his first taste of senior international football.
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte named the defender to his provisional 30-man squad for Euro-2016.
He was one of the three reserve players that typically heads home after the opening match, but Conte requested he stay to absorb his first experience as a senior international. Since then, the Italian has gone on to win four caps for his country.
The Italian men will now reunite in London when the 25-year-old ex-Torino man will get his first sample of the Premier League.
Watching him at Stamford Bridge will be his girlfriend, Morena Urzini.
