David Silva in talks over one-year Manchester City extension to keep him at Etihad until 2020
Spanish midfielder joined the club in 2010 and has become a cult hero amongst supporters after helping Man City to five major trophies
DAVID SILVA is in talks to extend his contract with Manchester City, according to reports.
The Spanish maestro is set to pen a one-year extension with Pep Guardiola's side to keep him at the club until 2020.
The 31-year-old joined the Etihad in 2010 and has gone onto become a mainstay in the side throughout his time in Manchester.
According to Goal, Silva's representatives held talks over a new contract in July and an announcement on his extension should be made within the coming weeks.
It means Silva's time at Manchester City could span to a decade meaning the club could grant him a testimonial.
He has played the full 90 minutes in all three matches this season and missed just four games last season.
Bernardo Silva has been touted as his long-term replacement but Pep Guardiola still eyes the ageing playmaker as an integral member of his side.
Silva currently earns around £170,000-a-week at the club but has eyed a return to his native Spain to see out his playing days at Las Palmas.
