WAYNE ROONEY rocks up to Everton training as he tries to work his way back into the club's good books following his drink-drive arrest.

The ex-England international had a dressing down by boss Ronald Koeman and was told to clean up his act to ensure there is no repeat of last week's charge.

Everton won't punish Rooney until his court appearance on September 19.

But he is expected to be slammed with a fine of two weeks' wages, worth £320,000.

Looking clean shaven, the 31-year-old arrived at the club's Finch Farm training complex ahead of their match with Tottenham.

But it will be Koeman who may need to answer the difficult questions with the Dutch boss set to face the media ahead of Saturday's clash.

Rooney was stopped by police driving a car belonging to office worker Laura Simpson after a night on the town.

The Daily Mail claim that the former Manchester United captain was three times over the limit at the time of his arrest.

Rooney and Everton fans will be hoping the latest controversy won't impact the early form he has shown this season.

He has scored twice, including one at Manchester City, but he may need to settle for a place on the bench when Mauricio Pochettino's men come to town.

Rooney's home life is also on thin ice with wife Colleen preparing to hand him one final chance to save their marriage.

Koeman is likely to be without Davy Klaassen and James McCarthy for the Spurs clash with both struggling to recover from injuries.
