Cologne had only been given a ticket allocation of 2,900.

But around 20,000 fans from the Bundesliga side descended onto London’s Oxford Street earlier this afternoon causing chaos as Britain’s busiest shopping street came to a standstill.

Police tried to keep the situation under control but bottles were being thrown and flares were being lit.

There were also reports of brawls breaking out around London’s West End  — and some fans were even seen throwing punches on Wardour Street in Soho.

Many had their faces covered as they chanted songs and let off red smoke bombs.

Police officers had to escort them away from shoppers and tourists.
