'he wet himself'

David Luiz slammed by Chelsea legend Ray Wilkins after seeing red for horror tackle

Ray Wilkins hits out at Brazilian defender over his lunge on Arsenal star Sead Kolasinac

DAVID LUIZ has been accused of wetting himself before his horror tackle on Sead Kolasinac.

The Brazilian defender is facing a three-game ban after lunging in with his studs showing at the end of the 0-0 draw with Arsenal.

And Blues legend Ray Wilkins has slammed the centre-back over the straight red.

He told talkSPORT: “It was an atrocious tackle. He either wants to hurt Kolasinac, or he’s afraid. I’ll go for the latter.

“He saw him coming towards him and thought, ‘wow, this fella is a giant’ and he basically wet himself.

“Kolasinac went to the floor, his boots never came off the ground, he just went for the ball.

"If Luiz had done that there would have been nothing wrong. It’s on the halfway line for goodness sake.”

Luiz is set to miss a League Cup clash with Nottingham Forest and league games against Stoke and Manchester City.

But Antonio Conte has backed youngster Andreas Christensen - who excelled during a two-year loan at Borussia Monchengladbach - to step in.

He said: "Yes. Christensen is a very young player but I think he is a good player and I trust him.

"Now he has the possibility to play and now he has to prepare very well to play."

Christensen, 21, has started just one league game under Conte but has managed four appearances in all competitions.
