Diego Costa watches Atletico Madrid vs Sevilla after passing medical ahead of £67m switch
Spanish international in the stands for the game at the club's state-of-the-art Wanda Metropolitano home
DIEGO COSTA watched Atletico Madrid take on Sevilla after passing his medical this morning.
The £67million striker was in the stands at the Wanda Metropolitano after Atleti agreed a deal with Chelsea this week.
But supporters will not be able to see him in action on the field until January due to the club's transfer ban.
Marca are reporting Costa had his medical at 9.30am and passed with flying colours.
The Spanish international, 28, left Madrid for Stamford Bridge in 2013 and was ecstatic to return after falling out of favour with Antonio Conte.
He beamed: “I’m delighted. It has taken too long, but has had a happy ending.
“Now I’m looking forward to seeing my team-mates and training. This is not how I wanted things to end at Chelsea, I had a good relationship with the people there.
“I’m not the type of person who would have wanted to leave in that way.
"But I wanted to return. I was happy at Chelsea, who are also a big club, but Atletico is my home."

Atleti have dropped a huge hint that Costa will wear the No18 shirt this season.
A picture taken outside the club’s new Wanda Metropolitano stadium shows the names and numbers of several stars with a spot left blank, presumably for their new arrival.
Club icon Fernando Torres has the No9 jersey, with No18 often the second choice for strikers.
