Barcelona scout reports Leon Goretzka is ‘too ready to join’ as interest builds from Arsenal and Liverpool
BARCELONA step up their pursuit for in-demand Bundesliga ace Leon Goretzka.
The Spanish giant's international adviser travelled to Germany to watch the 22-year-old Schalke ace in action against Bayern Leverkusen.
Club representative Ariedo Braida was among the crowd as the German scored the only goal for his side in the Bundesliga bout that ended 1-1.
According to reports, Braida assured about Goretzka: "It is too soon for Barca."
Barca's sporting director Robert Fernandez also travelled on August 19 to watch the midfielder in action against Leipzig.
Goretzka remains in contract with Domenico Tedesco's side until the summer, but will be free to discuss terms with new clubs in January.
Following a remarkable spell in the Bundesliga, the Germany international has attracted interest from a host of Europe's biggest sides - including Real Madrid, Juventus, Liverpool.
Goretzka, who is widely regarded as one of Germany's brightest young talents, joined Schalke 04 in June 2013 on a five-year deal.
The midfielder shot to prominence during the 2014-15 Bundesliga campaign, scoring five goals in 32 appearances.
According to Italian outlet CalcioMercato - Bayern Munich are firm favourites to secure Goretzka's services next summer on a free transfer.
Carlo Ancelotti has reportedly drafted an offer to be submitted in January and is confident that it will be accepted.
